I have a Just Tomatoes co-op open on a forum I frequent. They make all sorts of yummy freeze dried, chemical free, conventional and organic fruits and veggies; awesome for snacks! P likes the blueberries in his porridge ;) Prices are roughly 50% less than what you'd pay in stores and online at places like Amazon!

Membership requirements waived for those who message me with their blog info so I can make sure you're not a troll ;)

For more information on Just Tomatoes check out their website and the reviews of other co-op members

Summer Reading Chart!

Parker has started reading really well the last couple weeks! We started with making sure he knew all his letter sounds then I moved onto pointing out words in books I was reading that I knew he'd be able to sound out.

He caught on quickly and has worked his way through Set 1 of the Bob Books and is now waiting for set 2 and 3 to arrive in the mail, and is having fun reading simple Dr Seuss books while he waits. He has also really enjoyed using some of the printables from 1+1+1=1

We went with the Bob books over other beginner readers because each page has something new on it, not just the same sentence with one word changed which helps with him actually reading it not simply memorizing the pages.

So now summer is almost here and P is ready for his summer reading challenge! We did one last summer but it was me reading to him obviously, this time it will be HIM reading to ME! I created a grid for the chart using this website and we will work on decorating it next week when his summer holidays start; stay tuned for that work of art!

For every book he reads he'll put a sticker on his chart. When his chart is full he'll get the Dinosaur Lego set he has been lusting after (and saving for!) for months! Mum and Dad will chip in the extra he needs to buy it ;)

Paperplate Lady Bug

P has been making lots of bugs this past month or so, it is spring after all, they're everywhere! This cute little lady is made with a couple hand painted paper plates, pipe cleaners and staples. Easy peasy!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar ~ Reusing Egg Cartons

Egg cartons are good for all sorts of things; counting and sorting games, growing seedlings, making alligators AND very hungry caterpillars!

A big thanks to P's teacher for this clever way of recycling egg cartons!
