DIY - Play dough!

I've posted a play dough recipe in the past haven't I? I tried a new recipe today (thank you No Time For Flash Cards!) though and it is definitely worthy of sharing, I think we've found our new play dough recipe. It does require a bit of heating on the stove but it really was no big deal.

Play dough recipe
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons oil
food coloring

Mix it all in a pot until smooth. Heat over medium heat until the texture changes and it begins to pull away from the pot. Let cool for a minute and then knead until smooth. Play!

This play dough is much easier to manipulate than our old recipe so it's much easier for P to handle and mold into shapes and such.

I made P a kitty and rolled some of it out for him. He used his snail to make squiggly lines in the dough and told me the kitty was playing in the river. Now that's an imagination!
